Paleo Beef Casserole
This is one of my favorite meals. It cooks up a lot so I can eat it through out the week and its super simple to make. If fills you up and is tastes amazing. I love to eat this an hour or so after my workouts because the fats from the meat satisfy my body, the veggies within the dish add the enzymes to help and protein for muscle growth and recovery. But don't worry you don't need to be a workout-aholic like me in order make this dish or enjoy it. The natural fats will satisfy your bodies cravings and have you eating less throughout the day.
Remember weight loss key factor is eating less but not starving yourself and giving the body proper nutrition to operate and keep you from those un-natural cravings called pica. Pica is “characterized by an appetite for substances largely non-nutritive, such as ice, clay, chalk, dirt, or sand.” Well I know you are not going to eat any of these things but we do have cravings for foods sometimes and we just don't know why it is because our bodies are searching for its nutrtition and having you body consume stuff until it finds what it needs and most of the people out there eat empty calories which turns into un-wanted weight.
How to prepare Paleo Beef(lamb) Cassarole
+1 onion, diced
+1 tbsp ghee
+3-4 cloves garlic
+2lbs beef (lamb)
+3 yams, peeled thinly sliced
+1 cup sliced mushroom
+2 bell peppers (red, green, yellow, orange. I prefer rend & yellow)
+1 cup tomato sauce (make sure you get sauce that comes in a can not lined with BPA's)
+Salt & pepper just before serving
1. In a large saute the onions in ghee for 5-6 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 3 minutes
2. Turn heat to medium high and add ground beef, break up the meat
3. Add cook for about 5 minutes
4. Lay the yams on the bottom of the slow cooker, then add the bell peppers and mushrooms
5. Place the beef on top and pour tomato sauce over it.
6. Cook on low for 6 hours
Enjoy this meal for many servings and let those tastes bud sing with joy!!
